Oak Square
A quieter residential pocket with its own YMCA, neighborhood pubs, and some of Brighton's most desirable single-family homes.
About Oak Square
Oak Square is Brighton's most residential sub-neighborhood, sitting at the western edge near the Newton border. It's quieter than Brighton Center, more removed from the student rental scene, and has a slightly more settled, family-oriented feel. The YMCA anchors community life, and Chandler Pond provides a surprising patch of nature. The housing stock is similar to the rest of Brighton — triple-deckers and two-families — but the streets feel calmer and the owners tend to be longer-term residents. It's where Brighton starts to feel less like a city and more like a neighborhood.
Property Character
Triple-deckers and two-families on quieter residential streets. Some single-family Colonials closer to the Newton line. Slightly larger lots than eastern Brighton. More owner-occupants than renters.
