East Lexington
The most affordable section of Lexington — closer to Arlington, slightly smaller homes, and still full access to the school system.
About East Lexington
East Lexington is where savvy buyers enter the Lexington school district without the full Lexington price tag. Sitting along Massachusetts Avenue between the Arlington border and the town center, this area has a slightly more modest character — the lots are a bit smaller, the homes a bit more compact, and the prices meaningfully lower than the center or the western sections. But the crucial fact is that East Lexington feeds into the same school system. A buyer who can't stretch to $1.5M for a center-town Colonial might find a well-maintained Cape or ranch here for $1M–$1.2M. The Minuteman Bikeway runs right through the neighborhood, and the commercial cluster around East Lexington has its own small-town charm with a few shops and restaurants.
Property Character
Smaller-scale Colonials, Capes, and ranches on more modest lots. More condos and townhouses than other parts of Lexington. A few multi-family properties. Some homes from the 1920s-1940s with character, mixed with 1950s-1960s stock.
